Shear behavior of steel fiber reinforced concrete
In the present paper data of shear tests on beams made of SFRC (steel fiber reinforced concrete) are compared to data of tests on specimens made of plain concrete. The data were evaluated to find out the influences of the concrete compressive strength, the longitudinal reinforcement ratio, the cross section dimensions and the fiber reinforcement index on the ultimate shear resistance of SFRC beams. It is shown that all mentioned parameters influence the fiber contribution to the ultimate shear strength. Based on empirical evaluations an analytical approach for the calculation of the ultimate shear strength of SFRC is proposed.
