Mechanical properties of flexural members using ultra high strength fiber reinforced concrete
UFC (ultra high strength fiber reinforced concrete) has impressive properties such as high compressive strength, high durability, high tensile strength, high shear resistance, and ductility because of the use of short fibers for reinforcement. Because of these properties of UFC, the behaviors of flexural members using UFC are different from those of conventional concrete. The aim of this study is to clarify the flexural behaviors of UFC beams and slabs, and to clarify the size effect on the flexural strength of UFC beams. In addition, also the flexural stress-strain relationship and the equivalent specific length of UFC in order to accurately calculate the flexural resistance of UFC was investigated. In this study, bending tests on target structures such as plain beams and slabs and RC slabs were performed. In addition to the investigation, also the results of the application of yield-line theory to the stress-strain relationship of UFC were examined.
