Polymer adhesive bonding of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC)
If the outer layer close to the surface is removed and steel fibres can be wetted and activated within the adhesive layer, the desired ductile failure in the concrete occurs in most cases. Mechanical removing methods like sandblasting or removing different embedded peel plies before adhesive bonding resulted in better bonding performance than retarder preparation during UHPC (ultra high performance concrete) casting or acidising the surface. After completing the testing campaign the results will provide guidelines for all users of prefabricated UHPC parts and will give technical regulations for assembly at the construction sites under specific climatic conditions.
