Creep and shrinkage characteristics of Ultra High Strength Concrete (UHPC)
An essential precondition for a reliable design of reinforced and pre-stressed UHPC constructions is a substantiated knowledge on the time-dependent stress-strain behavior of this material. A comprehensive research program at the University of Karlsruhe is therefore aiming at the development of suitable constitutive models and design methods. The related experimental program includes various experiments on different UHPC, considering well known parameters affecting the creep and shrinkage characteristics of concrete. For the evaluation of a potential nonlinear deformation behavior several experiments under varying stress levels will be performed also including the observation of the creep recovery and relaxation tests.
