Moisture transmissibility and shrinkage of waterproof concretes
This work focuses on the moisture diffusivity and shrinkage characteristics of self-sealing or waterproofing concretes. Two types of such concretes have been investigated, where one sealing treatment is applied to hardened concretes as a two-coat application whereas the second one adopted is recommended for use with fresh concrete, in which a sealing admixture is premixed into the fresh concrete blend. A scheme is outlined for computation of stresses resulting from restrained shrinkage in concrete structures with self-sealing concrete phases.
