Influence of MnO2 on the burnability and mineral formation of alite-sulphoaluminate cement clinker
The influence of MnO2 on the burnability and mineral formation of alite- sulphoaluminate cement clinker was studied in this article. Results showed that when the raw meal mixed with MnO2 burned at a lower temperature, the amount of free lime (f-CaO) remarkably increased with the increased adding amount of MnO2. However, with the rising of the burned temperature, the effect of MnO2 decreased. The raw mix prepared from commercial raw materials with the addition of MnO2 can be burned to get high grade clinker at the temperature lower than 1350 deg C. When the adding amount of MnO2 was lower than 1 %, the formation of C3S mineral increased; C3S mineral decreased obviously when the adding amount was larger than 2%. The formation of calcium sulphoaluminate mineral decreased with the addition of MnO2. The addition of MnO2 is bad for the formation of calcium sulphoaluminate mineral, since the formation of ferrite phase increased remarkably with the increased addition of MnO2.
