Automatic generation of simplified models
The paper has shown that the applied ranking strategies are capable of distinguishing terms in symbolic equations according to their influence on a defined result variable. Furthermore, the potential of increased calculation performance resulting from a decreased number of states is targeted by taking the selective decoupling into account. The methodology has been applied to a relevant industrial application of a mobile construction machine. A detailed model has been automatically reduced according to the requirements of a real-time target. The computational effort could be reduced to a third in compliance with an error bound of 10%. The results document the effectiveness and relevance of the methodology. Thus, it can be stated that symbolic modeling techniques show a high potential for improvement of the model-driven system engineering according to the modeling effort through the automatic retrieval of real-time capable models from existing system models.
