Operational Modal Analysis for Automobile
This paper presents the method of operational modal analysis, which is the identification of modal parameters by only using the response signals under operational conditions or ambient excitations. Giving the actual road spectrum as ambient excitations on vibration table, the operational modal analysis for automobile was conducted by test. The first order natural frequency 14.721Hz of rear axle and the first order torsion frequency 30.928Hz of body were determined in the test. This result implies that the operational modal analysis method is efficient for the modal parameters identification of automobile under operational conditions. It can accurately assess the dynamic characteristics of automobile's structures under actual conditions.
