Rooftop building integrated photovoltaic systems: an option for delivering total management
Rooftop building integrated photovoltaic (RtBiPV) system is an active component of the built-in environment which can be installed over the rooftop of the buildings. This active component saves the rooftop area from the detrimental effect of the ambience. Moreover, this acts as the on-site generator of electricity under the exposition to solar radiation and also offers the mechanisms in conserving electricity in that built-in area. Implementation of this system reduces the day time peak load demand, reduces the heating and cooling load of the building, increases the lifetime of the rooftop surface by reducing its exposition in the open sun and ultimately reduces the loads of green house gas emission to the environment. Thus, in totality the RtBiPV unit offers total management in the built-in environment. In this context a discussion has been presented in the text of this paper highlighting the potential of the RtBiPV systems in the context of total management.
