A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Geosynthetics: An overview
Geosynthetics have proven to be among the most versatile and cost-effective ground modification materials. Their use has expanded rapidly into nearly all areas of civil, geotechnical, environmental, coastal, and hydraulic engineering. Geosynthetics, including geotextiles, geomembranes, geonets, geogrids, geocomposites and geosynthetic clay liners, often used in combination with conventional materials, offer many advantages over Traditional materials. The technical, economic and ecological advantages of geosynthetics can be used to saving construction costs and taking care of building material resources. This paper introduces geosynthetics from the perspective of their practical application especially in environmental applications.
