Study on the pore structure of hardened cement paste by SAXS
A technique was developed for using small angle X ray scattering (SAXS) to determine the absolute pore size distributions in hardened cement pastes ranging from 1 to 30 nm. The data obtained by SAXS were compared with those obtained by MIP. The advantages of SAXS in studying micropore structures of cement pastes were expounded. The micropore size distributions of the different cement pastes were investigated. (MIP = mercury intrusion porosimetry).
