State of insulation glass production in Russia today and prospects for the future development
In Russia windows are a main cause of heat losses from dwelling houses. At the beginning of 1992 in addition to the traditional window manufacturers, there started to appear new, mostly private companies , manufacturing windows and doors of insulated glass. Moscow is the leader among insulated glass consumers. The application of insulating glass for different types of buildings is listed and the state of IG units production is described. The total IG units production in Russia in 1996 has reached 1 million m2. Some data regarding Russia companies ROTAK and NTC Incomsteklo are presented. Some of Russian companies are searching for ways to reduce heat losses through the spendrul by means of Low-E or film (PVB interlayer) covered glasses in IG units. The heat resistance data for different gas-fillings and different glasses are listed. The major problem for new IG units producers is imported raw materials. Trends in development are shown.
