Assessment and upgrading of concrete structures
The present paper is a survey about the actual situation of concrete structures. Code requirements for evaluation of existing structures were discussed and new non destructive technologies which are most suitable and efficient for the assessment of bridges and other concrete structures e.g. concerning corrosion of the reinforcement, detection of faults in concrete members (ultrasonic and impact echo measurement), location of ducts by radar and the detection of fracture of prestressing steel (remanent magnetism method) were presented. New repair methods are also described as well as advantage strengthening methods.
