Telesurveillance: PHI operation in the city of Douai (centralised alarm service)
A communal intruder and fire alarm system to be implemented in 1989 in the context of 'Interactive Habitation' is described. Its services are classified under the headings of personal safety and health, security of property (against fire, theft and flood), and resource management which covers a wide range of comfort conditioning, energy management and conservation, and preventive maintenance. Brief reviews are given of technological equipment, communication networks and call-reception infrastructure; experimentation and training for domestic, professional and public-sector users; and the constitution of the working group for pilot-scheme preparation.
