Management planning for sewerage networks
Intermittent discharges from combined sewer overflows adversely affect the water quality in many urban rivers. The Water Research Centre (WRc) is coordinating the river basin management research programme to develop and improve procedures to quantify the impact of such discharges. The paper describes the background to the research programme, its content, and the steps being taken to ensure that the resulting methodologies are effectively implemented by the water industry.
