A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Intense activity is now facing the water industry for integrating its activities with SCADA systems. Difficulties faced in selecting SCADA and PLC systems and managing Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA) projects is discussed. Standards have an impact on both quality and profitability, both within the capital programme and for reducing operating costs. The author looks at the large, medium and small treatment works at Thames Water.
