Concerns the use of automation in the water supply industry. It is used to control water treatment plants, especially at times of pollution. DSS are being prepared to deal with pollution incidents. PLC are used in conjunction with SCADA to monitor flow and leakage. Automation is also used to prevent unplanned discharges caused by overloading of sewers; this involves sensors and communications. Accreditation and standards are discussed.
