Experimental studies on tubular trusses with mechanical joints (SS truss)
In oder to examine the structural behavior of the specific joints newly developed for tubular space trusses, the joint components, mainly the spherical one named the 'core' with which tubular members are connected by mono-bolts have been tested under static loading. The data obtained from the tests are formulated in designing. Then the overall rigidity of the frames calculated on the basis of these formulae is examined by loading tests of the frames and by measuring the deformation of an actual structure.
