Cement tapes for impact/corrosion protection of pipes
Cement tapes based on fabrics impregnated with hydraulic cements have been developed for protecting steel pipes from impact and corrosion. These tapes are activated by immersion in water or diluted emulsions and adhere well to many substrates. Field trials and simulated end use tests have shown that cement tapes perform well in onshore, splash zone and subsea environments, for total wrap, fittings and girth welds.
