Abrasive waterjet method for effective cutting of reinforced concrete members (on vibration properties when cutting)
In the case of cutting reinforced concrete members using the abrasive waterjet method, the cutting has conventionally been performed at cutting speed that enabled the cutting of embedded re-bars. However, this method is not considered efficient or effective as it is too slow for cutting concrete. In an effective method of cutting, the embedded re-bars must be instantaneously detected and then cut at speed different from that used for concretes. In this report, the vibration acceleration level of the specimens was measured while cutting member using the abrasive waterjet method. Knowledge of how re-bars and concrete sections can be detected instantaneously was also obtained.
