The corrosion inhibition of zinc surface of galvanized steel in aqueous medium
Galvanization of surfaces imparts apparent corrosion resistance to metal substrates. Pipes, domestic water heaters and other transportation devices have relied on galvanization for corrosion protection in varied environments. However, stripping of these surfaces by the environemnt induces severe corrosion susceptibility on the metal substrate especially for surface of low zinc surface thickness. The incorporation of inhibitors into agressive stripping corrodents is observed herein to ameliorate corrosion susceptibility of the galvanized surface in aqueous medium.
