Corrosion rate measurements of reinforcing steel in concrete by three electrode-linear polarization techniques

This paper presents the finding of laboratory investigation in which the applicability of three electrode-polarization resistance techniques including Tafel plot for the corrosion rate measurement of reinforcing steel in concrete have been evaluated. This technique applied to concrete is in a developing stage. Corrosion rate of reinforcing steel in mortar specimens made by four different environments was measured by the technique, which applicability was assessed by the corrosion rate obtained from metal loss determination.
