Centrifugal modeling of the Pubugou high-rise rockfill dam
The prototype behavior of the Pubugou rockfill dam at the end of construction, during reservior impounding and steady-state seepage, and rapid drawdown is modelled in a large centrifuge. The element modelling methodology for the high-rise dam is elucidated. The upstream slope stability and the performance of the vertical glacial till core in the reservoir water fluctuation zone, as well as the interaction of the core and the underground cut-off walls of the dam, are analysed and evaluated in priority.
