Applicability of the dynamic centrifuge model test method in developing countermeasures against soil liquefaction
A dynamic centrifuge model test and a large-scale model shaking table test in a 1G field were conducted concurrently to study the possible anti-seismic reinforcement of semi-buried roads and embankments in or on liquefiable sandy ground. Results obtained from the two tests were compared qualitatively, and the applicability of dynamic centrifuge model tests to the actual behavior of such countermeasure systems and ground conditions were investigated. Numerical analysis based on the effective stress theory using the Multi-Mechanism Model as a constitutive equation of soil was also reported.
