Buckling analysis for a stiffened panel
The major goal of this paper was to develop a new buckling analysis procedure which is suitable for use with reinforced composite plates and features an attractive blend of accuracy, computational economy and ease of modeling. This goal was achieved by developing the simplified linked plate method (SLPM) for local mode buckling of a stiffened panel. The SLPM is based on the elastically constrained boundary condition described by three constraint factors. This new method is simple and relatively accurate. Predictions obtained using the SLPM are favorably compared to those obtained using FEM and VIPASA analyses as well as available experimental measurements.
