Based on a case of practical engineering a construction method is proposed for increasing seismic strength by rebuilding brick masonry of a multistorey building. The structure of such a combined seismic wall is presented and the principle is applied to designing a multistorey building in brick masonry. The structure of the wall offering increased seismic strength is suggested.
