State-of-the-art on connections for pultruded frame structures
The objective of this paper is to review and evaluate the structural performance of polymer composite connectors for joining frame elements in structural applications. The paper reviews the research work achieved, for the past decade or so, in this area. A summary of results and a description of a comprehensive research program on the structural behavior of composite frame connections is presented. The research program included the analysis and development of appropriate class of polymer composite frame connectors. In addition, the full-scale testing regime was conducted to cover the quasi-static, dynamic, creep, and cyclic performance of such connectors.
