Production of cement from contaminated concrete using Cement-LockTM Technology
The Cement-Lock Technology offers a one-step solution for treating various types of contaminated wastes such as soils, sediments, sludges, concrete and building debris. Organic contaminants are completely destroyed, inorganic contaminants are immobilized and the resultant solid product is converted to cement for sale in marketplace. The concrete was ground and mixed with different amounts of inexpensive modifiers and treated at about 2300 degree F to test the efficacy of the process for producing cement. Two bench-scale tests were conducted using siliceous and calcareous concretes. The intermediate products generated from this material were determined to be suitable for producing blended cement.
