Heating and pumping systems powered by photovoltaic for swimming pools
The thermal performance of heating and pumping systems for swimming pools in different regions for various seasons in Egypt using photovoltaic solar panel is the objective of this work. These regions are selected such that they cover several regions of different climatic conditions. The analysis for heating, pumping and photovoltaic systems are presented. The study includes the direct coupling of PV-solar panels, DC motor and electrical heater in an integrated system. The energy requirement for heating a swimming pool to a desired temperature (28 C) in the selected regions and seasons is calculated according to the insolation data from the typical climatological data of Egypt. The characteristics of motor, pump, electrical heater and the swimming pool are selected and are studied to be suitable for the useful PV-DC-power. The results show that the methodological data is the main principle for designing the modified heating system. Also, Aswan region has the lowest temperature difference according to its climatic conditions. The most economical heating system design will be in Aswan region while El-kharga and Hurghada need the most costly heating system design.
