Cathodic protection of new reinforced concrete structures in aggressive environments
Concrete structures in aggressive environments suffer premature deterioration from reinforcement corrosion. Traditional methods of protection, such as concrete admixtures and passive barrier systems, may not provide the level of corrosion control needed for the intended design life. The use of 'cathodic prevention' during construction is proposed.
