Force-displacement compatibility for reinforced embankments over soft clay
Due to a complex soil-reinforcement interaction, an extension of conventional limit equilibrium method is suggested for the analysis of slope stability of reinforced embankments over soft clay. The advantage of the proposed method is in decreasing the number of material properties necessary for the analysis in comparison with a finite element method while at the same time force-displacement compatibility can be considered for slope stability. The method inherited the disadvantage of conventional limit equilibrium that a sliding mechanism must be assumed to govern the slope stability.
