Misure ed interpretazioni dei carichi dinamici sui ponti. Terza fase: Resistenza a fatica di piastre ortotrope per ponti in acciaio
The research developed by an italian group attained the theoretical study, by means of numeric and analytic methods, of the static behaviour of orthotropic decks of steel bridges with the aim of calculating the nominal stresses induced by wheel loads in the points of the deck more sensitive to fatigue cracking risk. The accuracy of the theoretical results has been successfully verified with static test performed on a full scale deck specimen. Beside that, experimental investigations have been carried out to get the S-N curve related to two widely used connection typologies between stiffeners. Tests have been performed both on full scale rib specimens and on large pieces of orthotropic steel decks.
