High-strength and high-toughness steel
To use earth moving machines under severe conditions, steel must have suitable performance efficiency. To meet demand for decreased costs as well as high-strength and high-toughness performance, a new steel has been successfully made for these purpose. The high-strength and high-toughness steel developed has been used as the material for track links. Two types of the new steel have following compositions: 0.33/0.41 C, 0.15/0.23 Si, 0.46/0.45 Mn, 0.006 P, 0.006 S, 0.02 Ni, 0.98/1.00 Cr, 0.54/0.49 Mo, 0.020 Ti, 0.0030/0.022 B, 0.027/0.030 N (in wt.%). The steel is compared to conventional SNCM431.
