Numerical Analysis on Consolidation Settlement of Soft Soil Foundation for Artificial Island
With the fast development of technology and growth of population, humans began large-scale construction for artificial island. In the field of artificial island research, settlement calculation is pay great attention. According to the geological data surveyed from one artificial island in northern china, using layer-wise summation method and finite element method which based on effective stress theory and Darcy law, the final settlement of the island is calculated. In the meantime, the result of two methods is comparatively analysis.
