Regenerative Design of the Moat in the Rehabilitation Historical Ancient City of Xi'an
As a prominent part in the cultural image of Xian city, the City Moat needs a guiding ideology consisting of humanity, landscape, ecology, and harmony in the citys programming, construction, and development, then to complete the mission of protecting the ancient sites in order to improve the ecological environment and inherit the cultural heritage. This article, aiming at how to make advantage of humanistic administration theory more effectively, presents an idea that the protection and development of the City Moat should follow a strategy of sustainable development, which is, on the basis of ensuring the original humanistic system, the features should be fully utilized, well developed and scientifically managed in terms of culture, business and recreation. Also, it argues the possibility of a gradual transformation of the present water quality and river bank, to restore the original ecological morphology, improve the biodiversity, and to perfect the self-renewal capacity of the system.
