Applying the Use Case Methodology to Smart Cities
The increasing integration of cities by information and communication technologies and the common interest in smart cities pose new challenges for standardization. Due to the complexity of smart cities, new approaches and techniques are needed to create new standards which include all aspects of the domain and are accepted by all participants. Hence, this paper represents the use case methodology and how it can be applied to the domain smart city. The methodology is supported by a web-based tool which allows the cross-domain creation and analysis of use cases. Aim of the methodology is to provide information for closing gaps in standardization.
