Distortional‐dilatational strain failure mode concept for hyperelastic materials
This work presents a universal, generally applicable, phenomenological failure criterion that describes a single, smooth, and convex hypersurface in principal strain space. It provides a strain‐based description of the bulk material failure of nearly incompressible hyperelastic elastomers and captures both distortional and volumetric failure in a single criterion.
