Robust control techniques for buildings under earthquake excitation
AbstractRobust control techniques are applied to civil engineering structures subjected to earthquake excitation. Full‐state feedback and observer‐based control laws are used to reduce the response of the building due to earthquake ground motion. Effects of actuator dynamics and a method to incorporate these dynamics into the overall design are also presented. The effectiveness of the control method is demonstrated by simulation results.
