INJECTION OF RECLAIMED WASTEWATER INTO CONFINED AQUIFERS
One barrier against seawater intrusion into an aquifer is a line of barrier injection wells several miles inland, with pumping wells between them and the shoreline. Treated wastewater offers a supply of injection water, and research reveals how it flows, changes in composition, and otherwise behaves in the aquifer surrounding the injection well.
