Was ist passiert in den letzten Jahren des Konstruktiven Glasbaus? Wir haben uns mit Details beschäftigt sowie Berechnungsverfahren entwickelt, von denen allerdings selbst die Entwickler sagen, dass sie für eine Praxisanwendung zu komplex sind. Wir haben eine nicht unerhebliche Zahl von innovativen Projekten verwirklicht, die in ihrer Summe eine Evolutionskette der Entwicklung darstellen und weiteres Potential erwarteten lassen. Die Frage ist nur, wo dieses Potential liegt – ob tatsächlich in noch mehr verfeinerten Details oder grundsätzlich anderen Herangehensweisen an die Konstruktion und das Material Glas. Dieser Frage versucht der hier vorliegende Artikel zu folgen und möchte Richtungen aufzeigen, die jenseits der bereits eingeschlagenen Wege liegen und Potentiale bieten, um die nächsten Evolutionsschritte zu erreichen.
Structural Building with Glass – at a Distance.
What has been happening during the last years of structural building with glass? We have been occupied with details as well as the development of calculation methods – of which even their developers say that they are too complex for practial use. We have realized a rathwer significant number of innovative projects that, in summation, show an evolutionary development chain and lead us to expect further potential. However, the question is where this potential lies – is it indeed only the further fine‐tuning of structural details or does it encompass fundamentally different approaches to the construction with and the material of glass. The article presented follows this question and tries to highlight directions beyond the known paths and offers potentials to reach the next evolutionary steps.
