Das Wembley‐Stadion ist das Stadion der englischen Fußballnationalmannschaft. Außerdem wird es für Pokalendspiele sowie für Musik‐ und Leichtathletikveranstaltungen genutzt. Es hat somit außerordentlich repräsentativen Charakter. Dieser Ort ist unter anderem mit einem der umstrittensten Tore des Fußballs (1966) nicht mehr aus dessen Geschichte wegzudenken. Der im März 2007 eingeweihte, imposante Neubau besitzt das Potential, die ruhmreiche Geschichte dieses bedeutenden Ortes würdevoll fortzuführen.
Die Seile des neuen Wembley‐Stadions spielen eine wichtige Rolle im Tragwerk des Daches. Zur Umsetzung des Entwurfs waren architektonisch anspruchsvolle Sonderlösungen erforderlich, die im Rahmen der Tragwerksplanung und deren Umsetzung gemeinsam mit dem Seilhersteller ausgearbeitet wurden.

The Wembley Stadium is the home of England's national football team. It is also used for cup finals, music events and athletics. It therefore is a highly representative stadium. This location is one of the most famous in the history of football, because it has seen one of the most controversial goals (1966). The impressive new Wembley Stadium has been opened in March 2007 and it certainly has the potential to provide a framework for future glorious times in football.
The cable assemblies of the new Wembley Stadium are integral to the design of the building. A couple of special‐purpose solutions have been developed between the roof contractor and the cable manufacturer to realise the stadium design.
