The last and concluding part of the book, Chapter 6, presents the Historic Urban Landscape approach as an attempt to address many of the issues raised: the need to address challenges to urban conservation unleashed by the forces of change associated with globalisation; the need to integrate conservation and urban planning and development into a unitary process; and the need to revisit the classic conservation paradigms in order to recognise cultural diversity and the dynamic nature of urban heritage.
