Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Statement of Recommended Policy
This article contains the AWWA statement of recommended policy and procedure, as reaffirmed by the AWWA Board of Directors on June 17, 1962, entitled “The Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies.” The article discusses studies of the effectiveness of fluoridation, along with the application of fluorides by water utilities, industrial effects of fluorides, and optimum fluoride levels. The policies on fluoridation of the medical and dental associations of the United States and Canada are reviewed in this article.
