AWWA Members Capture Multiple AAEE Awards
This article reports on the 2004 Excellence in Environmental Engineering® competition awards, which are presented annually by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers® (AAEE). Both of the top awards and many of the other winning projects were related to water or wastewater, and AWWA members were well represented throughout the various award levels. AAEE's top award, the Superior Achievement for Excellence in Environmental Engineering Award, was awarded to two projects: CDM won for its design of the Gilbert and Mosley Remediation and Redevelopment Project in Wichita, Kansas; and, the City of Los Angeles, Department of Public Works, Bureaus of Engineering, Sanitation, and Contract Administration won for the design of a project named the First Major Biosolids Facility in the United States to Achieve Pathogen‐free Standards.
