Creating Walls and Curtain Walls
This chapter helps architects create walls that comply with both Level of Development (LOD) 200 and LOD 300. Four different kinds of walls can be created: basic walls, stacked walls, curtain walls, and in‐place walls. The chapter looks at techniques architects can use for modeling basic walls once they are placed in a project. It also helps architects explore the skills needed to create and customize walls to meet their design requirements. The chapter provides information on the new and exciting realm of complex curtain wall and panel generation made possible with the conceptual massing tools in Autodesk® Revit® software. The Revit conceptual massing environment can be used to create complex curtain wall configurations. Pattern‐based panel families can be loaded into the massing environment and populated on a divided surface. These populated surfaces can then be loaded and placed in a project model for documentation and scheduling.
