Managing Revit Projects
This chapter examines how to manage Autodesk® Revit® projects within one's office, explaining strategies for the processes needed to support one's project. The chapter discusses how to review one's Revit projects and determine the state of project health. In the case of administrative activities such as Revit QA/QC, a business process model and notation (BPMN) swim lane diagram can be used to visually depict when the activity starts, who conducts the activity, the resulting actions of a pass or fail, and how the activity ends. The BIM manager is the individual charged with the successful administration of BIM projects within an organization. The manager assists with the development of a project's BIM execution plans, develops and enforces BIM standards, provides guidance, and manages the processes that administer BIM. The total number of work sets accommodates the two default work sets generated when work‐sharing is enabled. It allocates four work sets for potential Revit linked models, four user‐defined work sets for logical model assemblies, and five work sets to accommodate any project‐specific work‐sharing need. The administration of Revit is reliant on process. All people participating on the project must understand how an activity starts, who conducts the activity, the possible results during the activity, and how the activity ends.
