Coagulation Control
This article discusses a number of methods that have been developed for more precisely identifying good coagulation. The most common method of monitoring coagulation is by the use of jar tests and visual observation. The electrophoretic cell method involves measuring the charge on particles by observing their rate of movement toward electrodes. The streaming current detector can yield the same qualitative information as the electrophoretic cell. The main focus of the article is the pilot filter coagulant control system, used either to indicate coagulation conditions or to control them automatically.
