There is an increasing level of concern among consumers and water professionals about the quality of water being served, which is partly responsible for the rapid growth of the bottled water and home treatment device industries. Law firms are seeking windfall settlements from class action suits against water utilities for claims involving health effects from the presence of a contaminant in the water supply.
