A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Value Study Styles
A value study is a discrete intervention during the inception, evolution and development of a project, and comprises all activities necessary to ensure that the project will use the least amount of resources in delivering the required benefits. A value study comprises the three phases of Orientation and Diagnosis, Value Workshop and Implementation. This chapter describes the value study process, indicating the characteristic intervention points with the associated value management and value engineering structures. The chapter concludes with a case study illustrating study agendas and the tools and techniques practiced in the value management and value engineering of a community library project.
