This article provides a regulatory update on fluoride, chromium VI, potentially lowered MCLs, perchlorate, and volatile organic chemicals (VOCs). The current contention in Congress over the national budget is discussed, along with AWWA's “measured response” to the Obama Administration's proposed budget for fiscal year (FY) 2012, which cuts funding for two State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan programs. The Water Infrastructure Bank funding option will be emphasized by AWWA in its upcoming “Water Matters” 2011 Fly‐In.
